VOTING ON ELECTION DAY
Voting on Election Day is exciting and rewarding! Seeing a line of your neighbors and friends exercising their right to vote is a great experience. Election judges and Elections Office staff have been training and working hard to ensure that our elections are safe, accurate, fair, and secure. They are also your neighbors and friends.
You might be concerned about whether or not you can take time off work to vote (you can), what rules you must follow at the polling place, what kind of assistance is available, to name a few. The links below will answer your voting day questions.
Find out where you vote, what times the polls open and close, and why polling places sometimes change from election to election.
Know the polling place rules. For example, you cannot wear or bring campaign materials.
You can take time off work without penalty.
You will vote in a private area. Your vote is SECRET.
You can request a ballot in your native language if you are not fluent in English.
You can request assistance at the polls.
Go to your polling place, sign in or register to vote, VOTE, take your ballot to the ballot box.
